We want you to feel welcome at Redeemer while recognizing that you may have some questions about what or how our community works. Let us help you feel comfortable as you get to know us at Redeemer! Below find some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us via e-mail or in the office.
Redeemer’s worship services are on Sundays at 8:30AM & 11:00AM. All worship services are held in our Sanctuary. Redeemer’s worship is traditional, liturgical, and dynamic! Ground in the ancient liturgy, permeated with God’s Word, themed with our Lutheran heritage, and enhanced with superb music and musical groups. It’s a great way to receive God’s gracious gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation in Jesus each week!
At various times in history, innovations helped to foster engagement with God’s Word such as the printing press – and in our day visual screens. Thus, we use a both a worship hymnal as well as screens to help lead our congregation through the Divine Service. Having both while worshipping, we hope to help facilitate the use of liturgical elements that have been in use by the Church for centuries.
Every other Sunday, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper in confession and glad confidence that our Lord, as He says, gives not only bread and wine, but His very Body and Blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sin (Matt. 26:28). Because it is the Lord’s Supper and not our own, we defer to His Word as we administer His gifts.
In line with our wider church Body, the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, we practice closed communion, which means while we want everyone to join us for communion, we recognize that there are reasons not all should. For instance, those who are not yet instructed or baptized, those who cannot examine themselves (1 Cor. 11:27-29), those who hold to different beliefs (1 Cor. 10:16-17), or those who refuse to forgive others or repent of their own sin (Matt. 6:15). We respectfully ask our first-time visitors or those who would like to join our congregation to first visit with pastor before communing.
The Lord instructs us in His Word: Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Because of this, many prefer to put on their “Sunday best.” Still others prefer a more dress-casual approach. Whatever your attire, we want you to feel comfortable worshiping with us! We care mostly that you feel welcome to join us and want you to be more focused on the Lord’s gifts in worship than what you’re wearing.
We are located at 312 W. North St. in Mountain Home, Arkansas. You can enter the parking lot from North street or from Highway 5 North. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Our entire building is surrounded by parking with overflow in our Family Life Center across the street (at 307 W North St). Feel free to enter through any of the sides of our Narthex that joins our two main buildings where you’ll find our HUB (Helping U Belong).
During the week, our main (and delivery) entrance is off of 312 W North St doors that face the North. The office is just around the corner to the left once you enter.
During worship, we want kids to be with us! What better way for them to learn how to worship – from mom and dad? Take advantage of our spacious Narthex or our Nursery where the service is broadcast if they need a quieter place to worship.
For those who are hearing impaired, we have special hearing devices that you can wear that will allow you to control the volume. If you think this would be beneficial to you, let an usher know and they will give you a hearing device.
Every Sunday an Adult Bible Class led by Pastor is offered at Redeemer between services. Class is held in the Fellowship Hall. Just ask at the HUB if you need directions.
Sunday School is offered throughout the year! God doesn’t take the summer off, and neither do we! Our children and youth will be registered for Sunday school and taken to the appropriate grade.
