βNext to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music.β - Martin Luther
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. - Colossians 3:16
The music ministry of Redeemer has been an integral part of the church since the start of its first choir on November 17, 1967. Since then, several ensembles have helped contribute to worship, including vocal, handbell, and instrumental groups. Throughout the years, Redeemer has used music as an outreach to proclaim the Gospel to those outside the church body.Β
Redeemer's SATB Choir sings for both Divine Services on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm in the Choir Room.Β
Our 4 octave handbell choir rings for worship on the third Sunday of each month for both services. Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays at 5:00pm in the Sanctuary.
Post-confirmation youth to young adults can join Youth Handbells on Sundays between services at 9:45am, ringing in worship occasionally. In addition to learning music and ringing handbells, the group spends the first part of rehearsal studying the hymns and liturgy of the church.Β
Recently restarted, the Morning Star Chorus is Redeemer's women's choir which sings occasionally for worship. Rehearsals are as needed on Thursdays at 5:00pm in the choir room.
Throughout the year, and especially in the summer months, various instrumental and vocal soloists sing and play for offering during worship. If you are interested in singing or playing a solo or duet in worship, please contact Aaron to schedule a date and rehearsals!
Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.
